Chicago Rising From The Lake & Surrender To Survival

The function of sculpture is not to decorate but to integrate, not to entertain but to orient man within the context of his universe. Sketch study of "Chicago Rising From The Lake" Milton Horn, 1954. Chicago exploring sketch study by Doug Brinkman, 2019-07-05.

Quick Draw: Alberta Legislature's public (not empty press) gallery

They'll outshout them during question period. They'll outshout you during your peaceful rally. In the rotunda unions shout chants of solidarity. Call them tyrants with thier left news media party

After 187 days picketing the Alberta Government and the corporate news media for a press pass into the Alberta Legislature I have given up my quest defending a free press for Albertans the Alberta Legislature. I have closed my Citizen Free Press news blog surpassing 15,000 views and privatized over 12 years YouTubes surpassing over a half a million views closing this chapter of my news activism. This blog Citizen Doug 187 Free News begins a new chapter of active citizenship for me in my community of Edmonton continuing into my 13th year of using civil information actions while respecting people, property and the rule of law.

Freedom Of Expression Banned Inside The Alberta Legislature

Focus on Alberta politics and the news media from the Alberta Legislature's public (not empty) press gallery: My 2018 Status versus Motion art project that began November 2017 was put down to rest today after I was banned by Speaker Nathan Cooper from wearing this image (above) on my tee shirt in the Alberta Legislature public gallery.  Apparently some news media scum bag complained... Closing my Citizen Free News included over 2 years of news blog posts deleted and privatizing 13 years of citizen free news YouTubes to the general public. Citizen #FreePress R.I.P.

My focus will continue with my my current 2019 More Circles than Squares art project that focuses my camera and canvases on Alberta's Environment, Social & Political climate extremes. Of course I will continue my quick draws from the Alberta Legislature's public gallery and follow up with civil information actions distributing leaflets, posters and word of mouth of my active citizenship and social art work.
